> Botana AI is Sicily's first digital agronomy app, created with Sicilian farmers for Sicilian farmers. It helps farmers adapt to climate change by recommending the most profitable and sustainable crops for each field, and welcomes 20 new farmers each week through a waitlist.

Botana AI analyzes soil composition, microclimate data, altitude, slope, and market conditions to deliver field-specific crop recommendations. Each recommendation includes projected profit per hectare and our proprietary Botana Score for sustainability.

## How It Works

1. **Map Your Fields**, Draw field boundaries on an interactive map. Soil, altitude, and climate data are fetched automatically.
2. **Farm Survey**, Complete a short survey, upload soil tests, and photograph your field logbook.
3. **Crop Recommendations**, Receive AI-optimized crop recommendations ranked by profit, risk, and Botana Score.
4. **Monitor & Adapt**, Real-time weather alerts, actionable measures, and continuous strategy refinement.

## Ceres, the AI Agronomist

Ceres is the AI agronomist built into the Botana AI app. Farmers can ask it about their farm in plain language, identify an issue from a photo of a leaf, or get guidance on a crop. Ceres answers using the farmer's own field data (soil, climate, and crops), acting as an agronomist in their pocket, available day and night.

## The Botana Score

A proprietary sustainability metric evaluating long-term soil health, water usage, input quantity, and planting method. A high Botana Score means a crop is both profitable and sustainable for your specific land.
